PEI Faculty Seminar: On Soil Moisture, Plants and Hydroclimate with Amilcare Porporato

Amilcare Porporato, the Thomas J. Wu ’94 Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and a professor of civil and environmental engineering and the Princeton Environmental Institute, will present, “On Soil Moisture, Plants and Hydroclimate,” at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in Guyot Hall, Room 10. Lunch will be served at noon in the Guyot Atrium. Porporato is the final speaker in the Fall 2018 PEI Faculty Seminar Series.

Porporato will discuss how plant growth drives the flow of energy and water between the land and atmosphere. He will report on his work examining the influence of different types of photosynthesis — coupled with the movement of water within plants — on the daily evolution of the lower atmosphere and, potentially, on regional water cycles.

You can watch entire lecture on Youtube.

This event is free to the public.
