“How China Loses: The Pushback Against Chinese Global Ambitions”

Author Luke Patey, a senior researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies and lead senior research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, will discuss his book, “How China Loses: The Pushback Against Chinese Global Ambitions” in this virtual talk sponsored by the Princeton’s Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China, Program in African Studies and the High Meadows Environmental Institute.

In his book, Patey argues that China’s predatory economic agenda, headstrong diplomacy and military expansion undermine its ambitions to dominate the global economy and world affairs. He shows that countries around the world — rich and poor, big and small — are pushing back and recognizing that engaging China produces new strategic vulnerabilities to their independence and competitiveness.

This event is open to the public and will be held via Zoom  webinar. Register here in advance to receive a webinar link.
