Bradford Seminar: “The Role of Extreme Heat, Urbanization and Household Income on AC Possession Around the World”

Narasimha Rao, associate professor of energy systems at the Yale School of the Environment, will present “The Role of Extreme Heat, Urbanization and Household Income on AC Possession Around the World” via Zoom webinar. Register online in advance to receive a webinar link.

Rao’s research examines the relationship between energy systems, human development and climate change, including studying equity in energy transitions, and the impacts of climate change and its mitigation on society. His  research methods include household energy modeling, econometrics, input-output and policy analysis.

Rao is a contributing author to the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report. He received a European Research Council (ERC) Starting grant for a project entitled Decent Living Energy, which identified the energy and emissions thresholds needed to provide decent living standards for all.

This event is part of the David Bradford Energy and Environmental Policy Seminar Series organized by the Center for Policy Research on Energy and the Environment (C-PREE) in the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and co-sponsored by the High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI).
