Jesse Jenkins, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment and a PEI associated faculty member, will present “Getting to Zero: Can America Transition to a Net-Zero Emissions Energy System? ” at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, in Wallace Hall, Room 300. Lunch will be served at noon.
Jenkins will discuss what will it take for the United States to build a net-zero emissions energy system by 2050 in order to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Rich, developed nations like the United States have the means, and arguably the obligation, to lead the pace of transition. Jenkins will draw on recent publications and preliminary findings of Princeton’s Net-Zero America Project to summarize the decarbonization challenge in the American context.
This event is part of the David Bradford Energy and Environmental Policy Seminar Series organized by the Center for Policy Research on Energy and the Environment (C-PREE) in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and co-sponsored by PEI. Jenkins’ talk also is co-sponsored by Princeton’s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment.
