Michael Davidson, assistant professor in the School of Global Policy and Strategy and mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of California-San Diego, will present “Decarbonization Decision-making in the Western United States Under Political Uncertainty” via Zoom webinar. Davidson will discuss his ongoing work examining the power system decarbonization landscape across the 11 states of the western United States under political uncertainty. Davidson focuses his teaching and research on the engineering implications and institutional conflicts inherent in deploying low-carbon energy at scale to mitigate environmental harms, specializing in applications to China, India and the U.S.
